I have a question on specification of counterbores. According to the standard, you can specifiy them three ways. I am interested in the first that uses "same positional tolerance for holes and counterbores, same datum references". Specifying them using this condition, and assigning a geometric tolerance with circle M (MMC) its not clear to me how the bonus tolerance affects both holes. When calculating the bonus tolerance for the tolerance zone you have two holes that are departing from MMC and they will have different values, so how do you determine the actual Tolerance zone diameter?

I'd love to hear your comments,

Thanks,

abbman...

I think I have the answer. The geometric tolerance applies to both the smaller and larger diameter.
