What is GD&T?
GD&T stands for Geometric
Dimensioning and Tolerancing, as defined by ASME Y14.5M-1994.
GD&T: An International
Geometric dimensioning and
tolerancing is an international language used on drawings to accurately
describe a part. The language consists of a well-defined set of symbols,
rules, definitions, and conventions that can be used to describe the size,
form, orientation, and location tolerances of part features.
GD&T: An Exact Language
Geometric tolerancing is
an exact language that enables designers to “say what they mean” on a drawing,
thus improving product designs. Production uses the language to interpret
the design intent, and inspection looks to the language to determine set
GD&T Provides Uniformity
By providing uniformity
in drawing specifications and interpretation, GD&T reduces controversy,
guesswork, and assumptions throughout the manufacturing and inspection
Effective Training Knows
ETI’s materials were developed
by GD&T expert Alex Krulikowski, a recognized expert in the field of
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Alex deals with the tolerancing
issues of “real world” GD&T on a daily basis, and he is a member of
several national and international standards committees.
With a degree in industrial
vocational education and over 30 years of industry experience, Alex understands
GD&T and utilizes the best teaching methods. He has written books,
workbooks and software with his proven method for GD&T training, using
a set of goals and objectives that keeps the training focused on the material
that is most important. Many large corporations and hundreds of colleges
have adopted our GD&T training materials as the best in the field.
ETI also uses outstanding
GD&T instructors. All of our trainers have:
1. Expert knowledge of the
2. Current or recent industrial
experience using GD&T
3. At least ten years of
experience using GD&T
4. Experience and skill
using ETI teaching materials
