Systems may be configured differently. These directions are a general reference to enabling pop-up windows.


You may have a pop-up blocking program, or pop-ups may be disabled through anti-virus software, firewall software or 3rd party Internet Explorer toolbars.

Some of the most common pop-up blocking software packages are:



PopUpCop
Pop-Up Stopper
STOPzilla
Yahoo Toolbar
Google Toolbar
ICQ Toolbar
AOL Toolbar
Windows XP SP 2 (or higher) with Internet Explorer 6
Internet Explorer 7



If you have any of these programs or toolbars installed on your PC, it will have to be disabled, or you will have to add www.etinews.com to the list of sites allowed to open pop-ups. Follow the instructions below to allow pop-ups.

If you have pop-up blocking software that is not covered on this page, please consult the documentation or help files for the software before contacting ETI for technical support.




To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. Click the double arrows on the right hand side of the PopUpCop toolbar and select Edit Trusted Sites List from the menu.

2. Type *.etinews.com into the "Add this web site to the trusted zone" field and click the Add button.

3. Repeat step 2 for *.etilearn.com.

To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. The Pop-Up Stopper icon is on the bottom right hand corner of the Window Taskbar. If the icon is white, Pop-Up Stopper is enabled.

2. Double-click on the Pop-Up Stopper icon to disable pop-up blocking. The icon should turn grey.

To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. The STOPzilla icon is on the bottom right hand corner of the Window Taskbar. If the icon has a red S and a white Z, pop-up blocking is enabled.

2. Right-click on the STOPzilla icon and select ALLOW POPUPS from the menu.

3. The STOPzilla icon should now have a green S and a white Z, indicating that pop-ups are allowed.

To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. Navigate back to the ETI Browser Checker.

2. If the Yahoo! pop-up blocker is enabled, pop-up blocker icon will have an "explosion" graphic on it.

3. To allow site pop-ups from www.etinews.com click the Popup Blocker button. Select "Always Allow Pop-ups From... from the menu that opens.

4. Select the entry for www.etinews.com and then click the Allow button.

5. Repeat steps 2-4, using the ETI Learn Browser Test to add www.etilearn.com to the allowed list.

To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. Navigate to the ETI Home Page.

2. You can check the text on the Popup Blocker button to determine if the blocker is active on www.etinews.com. If the button displays the number of ads you've blocked, then the Popup Blocker is enabled on the site.

3. To allow site pop-ups from www.etinews.com click the Popup Blocker button. The button text will change to display "Popups okay". Now www.etinews.com has been added to the Google Toolbar whitelist.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the ETI Learn Website.

To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. Navigate to the ETI Home Page.

2. If the Block Popups button is in a depressed position, it will block all pop-ups.

3. To allow all pop-ups click the Block Popups button. The button will now appear to be raised.

To allow pop-ups from etinews.com and etilearn.com:

1. Navigate to the ETI Home Page.

2. If the Block Popups button text reads "Blocked", it will block all pop-ups.

3. To allow all pop-ups click the Block Popups button. The button text will now read "Allowed".

To allow pop-ups from ETI:

Under XP SP2 you can enable the pop-up blocker and allow site-specific pop-ups. To do this:

1. Open an Internet Explorer window.

2. Click on the "Tools" menu bar.

3. Choose Pop-up Blocker and then Pop-up Blocker Settings.

4. Type *.etinews.com as a site where pop-ups are allowed and click Add.

5. Type *.etilearn.com as a site where pop-ups are allowed and click Add.

To allow pop-ups from ETI:

In Internet Explorer 7 you can enable the pop-up blocker and allow site-specific pop-ups. To do this:

1. Open an Internet Explorer window.

2. Click on the "Tools" menu bar.

3. Choose Pop-up Blocker and then Pop-up Blocker Settings.

4. Type *.etinews.com as a site where pop-ups are allowed and click Add.

5. Type *.etilearn.com as a site where pop-ups are allowed and click Add.
