How round is round enough?

ETI has produced a five-minute video that answers that question.

“How Round is Round Enough”  shows examples of circular components used on various products and explains the concept of roundness deviation. It also provides a few examples of products with components that are “out-of-round.”

The circularity tolerance is one of the 14 geometric tolerancing symbols used in the language of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), based on the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard. This video shows how the symbol is used on engineering drawings and the impact it has on controlling roundness deviation on circular parts.
