Does anyone know if there are any industry standards that deal with mylars, their creation, calibration and tolerance? (Used to verify profile, radii, and shapes of course.)

Ken G,
In my experience the inspection material needs to be specified in detail for repeatablity. I do not believe that there are any national or international standards that cover grades of mylar used in inspection of profile of a line, because it is not a requirement of inspection profile of a line. The companies I have see that use mylar templates of true profile specifiy the mylar maker and thickness or product number as a means of getting consistency in there inspections.
Good luck.
